Millionaire GOP Rep. John Fleming Whines About Tax Hike Proposal, Says He Only Has $400,000 A Year After Feeding Family
On MSNBC this morning Chris Jansingz interviewed Rep. John Flemingz (R-LA) who is a multi-millionaire business owner. After being asked if he would lay off employees if his taxes were raised, Fleming began to whine about how much money he has left over after he pays his employees and feeds his family, a scant $400,000.
Jansing asked Fleming, “If you have to pay more in taxes, you would get rid of some of those employees?” Fleming responded by saying that while his businesses made $6.3 million last year, after you “pay 500 employees, you pay rent, you pay equipment, and food,” his profits “a mere fraction of that” — “by the time I feed my family, I have maybe $400,000 left over.”
Fleming also stated that raising taxes on wealthy “job creators” is a horrible idea that kills jobs and that any tax hike an the wealthy is “class warfare.”
Jansing made an effort to point out that. Fleming’s position is “not exactly a sympathetic” one. Fleming could only respond by saying that “class warfare has never created a job” and that his success is a “virtue.”
Fleming is a multi-millionaire business owner who is whining about his $400,000 a year paycheck. The average household income in 2010 was under $50,000 which is down 2.3 percent from 2009. Fleming also doesn’t work very hard to earn his money like the rest of us do. Fleming told the Wall Street Journal that “he spends very little time on day-to-day management, though he weighs in on broad strategy decisions. I monitor the reports. I’m certainly in communication with the managers.” In other words, Fleming is lazy and sits on his ass while his employees do all the work to make him rich. Meanwhile he’s in Congress fighting to lower average household income for the middle class and fighting to kill Social Security and Medicare. At a time when most average Americans are struggling to pay their bills and feed their own families, Fleming has the audacity to complain about having only $400,000 in his fancy wallet after feeding his own. This time, the camera was in a men’s room in a West Harford Starbucks, and was discovered by a 57-year-old plumber named Rafael Zeligzon whilst fiddling with the pipes (literally) in an attempt to get the hot water working again. There he found a cellphone-sized, sound-activated digital video recorder. He took it home with him after Starbucks staff told them they were “too busy” to hear him out.
Zeligzon downloaded the contents of the camera on his computer…There were 18 files in the camera with good-quality sound, Zeligzon said. The images showed men using the bathroom, their genitals, buttocks and, in some cases, their faces visible.
Zeligzon then brought the camera back to the Starbucks, who contacted the police. They traced it back to Paul Deveau, 51, who was arraigned on Thursday in Hartford Superior Court on 12 counts of voyeurism. He’s currently out on $100,000 bail. Zeligzon, meanwhile, saw the desktop and portable computers he uses to run his business confiscated by police for their investigation. In light of his perv-nabbing Samaritanism, he sent a letter to Starbucks asking them for a little help:
“It is a great financial hardship to be deprived of my computer for an indefinite period of time. In light of my good deed which prevented further violations of privacy of your customers, I am requesting that you provide me with a replacement laptop.”

After work I stood in the Union Square station for over thirty minutes, hot as hell with sweat dripping down my back . Watched an L train sit there since before I got down get filled by people. Stupid people who kept cramming themselves into the already packed cars. Just a clue if the train is already packed and there are a bunch of people waiting maybe it’s not a good idea to jam yourself into the already packed train. But I digress, I watched as trains got backed up behind it so that the 8th Ave side stopped running. No announcements were made as to why the trains were not running. Only reason I got out of there was ‘cause I took the 6 to the M. Both of which were packed and running incredibly slow. Maybe if actually the MTA hired people to maintain the track with all these service cuts this wouldn’t happen after a little rain.
